National Century Execs' Fraud Case In Jury's Hands

Law360, New York (March 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The corporate fraud trial involving former executives of bankrupt National Century Financial Enterprises Inc. wrapped up with a bang on Tuesday, with both sides trading blows over where the blame should be laid for the collapse of the health care finance company that cost investors $1.9 billion.

During two days of closing arguments, federal prosecutors painted the five executives as habitual liars, arguing that they committed fraud by supplying money to health care providers without collecting accounts receivable, then misleading investors, the Columbus Dispatch reported Wednesday....
