Fla. Gov. Sued Over Delay In Lt. Gov. Appointment

Law360, Miami (January 6, 2014, 5:16 PM EST) -- A Tallahassee lobbyist on Monday sued Florida Gov. Rick Scott over his failure to appoint a lieutenant governor since former Lt. Gov. Jennifer Carroll resigned nine months ago amid discovering Allied Veterans of the World's $300 million illegal gambling center conspiracy.

Barbara DeVane filed a petition for writ of mandamus with the Florida Supreme Court in an attempt to force Scott to appoint a lieutenant governor quickly as required by Florida law.
