New Century Creditors Want Report Kept Secret

Law360, New York (March 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Creditors of New Century Financial Corp. want a bankruptcy court to keep an examiner's report into the subprime lender's collapse under wraps while they analyze the 550-page document.

The Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors filed a motion with the Delaware bankruptcy court on Monday asking the clerk of the court to keep the final report sealed until mid-April.

The report, by bankruptcy investigator Michael Missal, details the results of a probe into the lender's accounting practices.
