Christmas Tree Shops Pays $1.3M To Exit OT Class Action

Law360, Los Angeles (January 7, 2014, 6:22 PM EST) -- Christmas Tree Shops Inc. agreed Monday to pay $1.34 million to settle allegations in New York federal court that the retailer failed to pay overtime to its department managers in violation of federal and state law.

Christmas Tree Shops and named plaintiff Ellen Ogaian jointly filed the motion seeking approval of the deal, struck after over 18 months of litigation and mediation, in which Christmas Tree Shops will pay department managers who say they were misclassified as overtime exempt for years.
