Wage-And-Hour Class Action Wave Continues, Report Says

Law360, New York (January 7, 2014, 4:22 PM EST) -- Federal wage-and-hour lawsuit filings continued to rise in 2013 even as other types of employment litigation filings dipped, according to a report released by Seyfarth Shaw LLP on Tuesday.

By the end of the year, there were 7,882 Fair Labor Standards Act cases filed, up from 7,672 in 2012, the law firm's 2014 Workplace Class Action Litigation Report said.

Meanwhile, the number of employment discrimination cases filed dipped to 12,311 cases from 14,260 cases lodged in 2012, according to the report. And 7,279 Employee Retirement Income Security...
