US Trade With NAFTA Partners Exceeds $100B For 1st Time

Law360, New York (January 8, 2014, 4:17 PM EST) -- The U.S. reached a record level of trade with Canada and Mexico in October, topping $100 billion for the first time, the Department of Transportation said Tuesday.

Data released Tuesday by the DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics show that freight flows between the U.S. and its partners in the North American Free Trade Agreement, Canada and Mexico, reached $103.1 billion in October. That total marks a record for U.S. trade with the NAFTA countries and constitutes a 4.5 percent increase over October 2012.
