NY Atty Must Show Books To Lloyd’s Or Face Contempt

Law360, Los Angeles (January 10, 2014, 8:39 PM EST) -- A New York judge threatened an Eaton & Van Winkle LLP attorney and his now-dissolved firm Lacher & Lovell-Taylor PC with contempt, ordering Thursday they supply financial records to Lloyd’s of London, which is attempting to recoup defense fees for a malpractice suit.

Lloyd’s had subpoenaed the financial records in its efforts to recover $166,000 that Manhattan Judge Anil C. Singh awarded the insurer for money spent defending Michael A. Lacher and Lacher & Lovell-Taylor in a malpractice action that Lloyd’s was not required to defend....
