FCC Chairman Calls For Careful Monitoring of AT&T Plan

Law360, Los Angeles (January 9, 2014, 9:41 PM EST) -- Federal Communications Commission chairman Tom Wheeler said Thursday that the FCC would be keeping a close eye on AT&T Inc.’s recent proposal to allow companies to sponsor mobile data for customers that would not impact their monthly usage caps.

Wheeler said that the FCC was not discouraging the plan, but that the agency would monitor it and similar proposals “carefully,” according to a prepared copy of his speech at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, Calif.
