Newspaper Union Wants Judge To Let It Bid On Philly Papers

Law360, Philadelphia (January 13, 2014, 2:49 PM EST) -- The Newspaper Guild of Greater Philadelphia on Monday asked a Pennsylvania state court judge to allow it to participate in a proposed auction of the parent company of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, as the warring owners of the papers continued to fight about how to dissolve their partnership.

The Guild filed a petition to intervene in the dispute between Interstate General Media Holdings LLC co-owners Lewis Katz and H.F. “Gerry” Lenfest on one side and majority owner George E. Norcross III on the other....
