ERISA Suit Over Comcast Pension Plan Dismissed

Law360, New York (March 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An ERISA suit filed against cable giant Comcast Cable Communications Inc. by a union and several Pennsylvania-based employees has been dismissed, after a judge found the plaintiffs’ claims did not hold up.

Judge David Stewart Cercone of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania granted Comcast summary judgment Tuesday, effectively dismissing the ERISA suit brought by the Communication Workers of America, AFL-CIO after the company decided to freeze participation in a defined contribution pension plan.
