Wharton Equity Puts Up $250M For Multifamily RE Portfolio

Law360, New York (January 14, 2014, 1:06 PM ET) -- Real estate investment firm Wharton Equity Partners, based in New York and Miami, Fla., announced Tuesday that it has acquired for $250 million a portfolio of 18 rental apartment communities located in six states, including North Carolina, South Carolina and Texas.

The purchase adds 4,179 units or approximately 3.6 million square feet to Wharton Equity's growing multifamily property portfolio. Most of the properties in the transaction are located in North Carolina and South Carolina, with the remaining properties in Kentucky, Kansas, Texas and Georgia.
