Justices Reject Argentines' Suit Against DaimlerChrysler

Law360, New York (January 14, 2014, 12:03 PM ET) -- The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that California courts could not hear a suit against German automaker DaimlerChrysler Corp. over an Argentine subsidiary's union-busting activities and human rights violations committed in collaboration with the Argentine government.

In an opinion penned by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the high court reversed a Ninth Circuit decision that found that the California courts had jurisdiction to hear the suit brought by a group of Argentine nationals.
