Chesapeake's Notice Extends Oil Lease, 6th Circ. Says

Law360, New York (January 14, 2014, 10:18 PM ET) -- The Sixth Circuit ruled Tuesday that Chesapeake Appalachia LLC's filing of a pooling notice qualified as "operations" under an oil and gas lease and thus triggered an extension of the lease period, despite the landowners' objections that the company had not submitted a drilling application.
