Australia Could Lead Global Fracking Boom, Report Says

Law360, New York (January 15, 2014, 4:51 PM EST) -- Australia can become the fastest growing shale developer following in the United States' footsteps, according to a Tuesday report by consulting firm Lux Research, but China and Argentina aren't far behind. 

The three countries lead the pack, as global nations with estimated reserves of 1.7 trillion barrels of oil equivalent pursue shale assets, Lux said. All three countries have significant reserves and the conditions that are the most ripe to exploit them, according to the report.
