Ex-DOJ Official To Run Internet Public Interest Group

Law360, New York (January 16, 2014, 6:44 PM EST) -- Former U.S. Department of Justice antitrust enforcer Gene Kimmelman will take over as president and CEO of Internet-focused interest group Public Knowledge, replacing the group's co-founder who recently moved to the Federal Communications Commission, the group said Wednesday.

Gene Kimmelman, who served as the DOJ’s head counsel for competition matters, joins Public Knowledge from the New America Foundation, where he worked as the director of the Internet Freedom and Human Rights project.
