Senate Clears 5 Circ. Court, 24 District Court Nominees

Law360, Los Angeles (January 16, 2014, 8:29 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee voted Thursday to advance 29 federal judiciary nominations, including five circuit court judges and 24 district court judge nominees, and cleared a prospective assistant attorney general's nomination.

Twenty-two nominees advanced following a voice vote, and most of the others sailed through roll-call votes, potentially a sign that Senate Republicans may be ending their long-running efforts to block President Barack Obama's bench picks.
