Turkey Fines Oil Giant Tupras For Abusing Dominance

Law360, New York (January 17, 2014, 5:52 PM EST) -- Turkey's antitrust watchdog on Friday fined Turkish Petroleum Refineries Co., known as Tupras, more than 412 million lira ($185 million) for abusing its dominance through its pricing and contracts.

The Turkish Competition Authority also told Tupras to avoid similar practices in the future but didn't provide further details about what kind of pricing and contracts were at issue in the case.

The administrative fine can be appealed to Ankara Administrative Court.
