ITC To Probe Nokia, Samsung In GPS Patent Infringement Row

Law360, New York (January 22, 2014, 5:54 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission on Wednesday formally notified Pragmatus Mobile LLC that it has initiated an investigation into the company's allegations that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Nokia Corp. and others have flouted a pair of patents on mobile devices that can be tracked by GPS signals.

The commission's vote to probe the imports came in response to a petition filed last month by Pragmatus claiming that Samsung and Nokia, along with Sony Corp. and ZTE Corp., were violating Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930...
