7th Circ. Says Federal Bias Law Applies to Labor Unions

Law360, Los Angeles (January 23, 2014, 5:02 PM EST) -- The Seventh Circuit on Thursday revived a teacher's case claiming his union should have represented him in a wrongful termination suit, saying the district court's finding that unions aren't regulated by Title VII would make the law "pointless."

The three-judge panel on Thursday found that U.S. District Judge Charles R. Norgle didn’t fully consider the law in his summary judgment against teacher Robert Green, who contended his union should have represented him in his successful challenge to his 2010 firing from an Illinois school.
