Software Is Patent-Eligible, Alice Tells Supreme Court

Law360, New York (January 24, 2014, 6:58 PM EST) -- Alice Corp. Pty. Ltd. urged the U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday to rule that software can be patented, arguing that a lower court misunderstood what kinds of inventions are eligible for a patent when it held that Alice's computerized trading platform patents were invalid for claiming an abstract idea.
