Fla. Supreme Court OKs Medical Marijuana Ballot Initiative

Law360, Miami (January 27, 2014, 4:54 PM EST) -- Proponents of a medical marijuana amendment in Florida on Monday cleared their last hurdle when the state Supreme Court signed off on the language of a proposed ballot initiative, sending the issue to voters in November.

In a 4-3 opinion, the Florida Supreme Court sided with the amendment's sponsor, People United for Medical Marijuana, and agreed that the proposed language of the ballot initiative clearly limits use of marijuana to those with debilitating medical conditions.
