Lukoil Inks Cooperation Deal With Mexico’s Pemex

Law360, New York (January 27, 2014, 4:21 PM EST) -- Russia’s OAO Lukoil and government-owned Petroleos Mexicanos finalized a cooperation agreement for the exploration and oil production Friday, highlighting Mexico’s December reforms that opened the country's nationalized oil industry to private participation.

The deal was signed by Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov and Pemex General Director Emilio Lozoya Austin at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to provide a foundation for the two companies to work together in oil exploration and production and to share best practices for preserving the environment, according to a statement.
