Hartford Sued Over Dior Competition Claim Coverage

Law360, New York (January 28, 2014, 5:03 PM EST) -- Hartford Casualty Insurance Co. was hit Monday with a declaratory suit by Florida-based cosmetics manufacturer Universal Handicraft Inc. seeking coverage for unfair competition counterclaims lodged in an underlying suit by cosmetics giant Parfums Christian Dior SA.

Universal, which operates as Deep Sea Cosmetics, seeks judgment that Hartford must provide defense costs for a pair of counterclaims made by Dior for unfair competition brought under the Lanham Act.
