GNC Hit With Suit Claiming Diet Pills Led To Liver Damage

Law360, New York (January 28, 2014, 4:20 PM EST) -- GNC Holdings Inc. was hit Monday with a putative class action in New Jersey federal court, the latest lawsuit to arise from its sale of a since-recalled diet supplement, made by a Texas company, that has been linked to liver damage.

The putative class action was launched against GNC as well as the product’s manufacturer, Dallas-based USPLabs LLC, and claims GNC sold USPLabs’ OxyElite Pro line of products while both companies were well aware of widespread reports that the products were causing severe liver damage. The...
