Despite $10M Settlement, ETP's Legal Woes Continue

Law360, New York (March 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Energy Transfer Partners LP has agreed to shell out $10 million to settle civil charges that it attempted to manipulate natural gas prices, the same day a rival energy company slapped it with a separate proposed class action involving similar allegations.

The lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, came as ETP separately announced it had entered into a consent order resolving its legal battle with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
