Prosecution Rests In Martoma Insider Trading Case

Law360, New York (January 28, 2014, 7:24 PM EST) -- Manhattan federal prosecutors on Tuesday rested their case in the insider trading trial of former SAC Capital Advisors LP portfolio manager Mathew Martoma, who allegedly used confidential information to trade ahead of the public release of drug study results.

Prosecutors announced the end to their case against Martoma late Tuesday afternoon. Closing arguments in the widely watched trial could come as early as Friday, U.S. District Judge Paul G. Gardephe said.
