DOL Wage And Hour Nominee Gets Senate Committee OK

Law360, New York (January 30, 2014, 3:15 PM EST) -- Business school professor David Weil moved a step closer Wednesday to taking the helm at the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, when a Senate committee approved his nomination and set the stage for a full confirmation vote.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, voting along party lines with one Republican Senator abstaining, gave Weil's nomination a green light by a 12-9 margin. No date has yet been set for the full Senate vote, a HELP Committee spokeswoman told Law360 on Thursday.  ...
