Senate To Vote On $956M Farm Bill Tuesday

Law360, Los Angeles (February 3, 2014, 9:47 PM EST) -- The U.S. Senate is expected to vote on an estimated $956 million farm bill Tuesday after a cloture vote — which sets a time limit on the debate of a bill, overcoming or preventing a filibuster — passed with 72 votes.

Debate on the bill, known as the Agricultural Act of 2014, will last for just 20 minutes on Tuesday before proceeding to a full vote, according to the Senate. The cloture motion needed 60 votes to pass and received a 72-22 stamp of approval....
