Calif. Lawmaker Proposes Latest Boost To Minimum Wage

Law360, San Diego (February 4, 2014, 8:55 PM ET) -- Just months after California Gov. Jerry Brown signed a bill increasing the hourly minimum wage to $10 in 2016, a state lawmaker on Monday floated a measure that seeks to raise it to $13 in 2017.

State Sen. Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, introduced S.B. 935, which would hike up the minimum wage to $11 an hour in 2015, $12 an hour in 2016 and $13 an hour in 2017. Starting in 2018, the minimum wage would be adjusted annually to the rate of inflation, according to...
