VW Plant Workers To Vote On Union By Secret Ballot

Law360, Los Angeles (February 3, 2014, 8:03 PM EST) -- Workers in a 3,200-employee Volkswagen AG plant in Tennessee will soon vote on whether the United Auto Workers union can move forward with a global union representation plan negotiated between itself and Volkswagen Group of America, the UAW announced Monday.

The agreement comes less than three weeks after the National Labor Relations Board's general counsel office recommended dismissing charges against Volkswagen and the UAW, which were brought by plant employees who said the company and union tried strong-arming them into unionizing.
