NY Democrats Push For Stronger Minimum Wage Package

Law360, New York (February 4, 2014, 4:27 PM ET) -- Unhappy with a staggered plan increasing New York's hourly minimum wage to $9 over three years, state Democrats unveiled a package of proposals Tuesday to speed the hike, include tipped workers, cut tax subsidies for businesses that hire young workers on the cheap and enable localities to raise wages.
The state Senate proposals come after a 2013 budget-season deal that saw the current wage-hike parameters enacted.
