NLRB Resurrects Expedited Union Election Rules

Law360, New York (February 05, 2014, 11:24 AM ET) -- The National Labor Relations Board on Wednesday reintroduced its controversial regulations for streamlining union elections, derided as "ambush election rules" by critics, setting the stage for another clash with the business groups that challenged a previous version.

The new proposal slated for publication in the Federal Register on Thursday mirrors the board's June 2011 rulemaking proposal for speeding up the union election process. If finalized, the rules would mean major changes for the union organizing process.
