EU Official Makes Final Push On Financial Transaction Tax

Law360, New York (February 5, 2014, 4:37 PM EST) -- A financial transaction tax would help the European Union develop fairness, responsibility and a stronger single market, a European Commission leader told the European Parliament on Tuesday.

Algirdas Semeta, European commissioner for taxations and customs union, said that the parliament has been a strong supporter of the tax, but special interests have made several nations change their stance.
