Detroit Fees Hit $11M In First Weeks Of Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (February 5, 2014, 4:34 PM ET) -- The early stages of Detroit's bankruptcy have been a windfall for its attorneys and financial advisers, who presented an $11.4 million bill for their legal and consulting work for the first 10 weeks alone, according to a Tuesday court filing.
About $6.6 million of that figure was billed by Jones Day, whose attorneys are the lead counsel in the case. The rest was billed by a smattering of other law firms and financial consultants. The figures were released in the fee examiner’s first quarterly report, which...
