GOP Reps. Want Details On Health Exchange Appeals Process

Law360, Los Angeles (February 6, 2014, 4:47 PM EST) -- Republican members of the House Energy and Commerce Committee on Wednesday urged Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius to explain why the agency has been unable to process appeals of errors in the applications of those seeking coverage through HealthCare.gov.

Six leaders of the Republican-controlled panel said in a letter that under the Affordable Care Act, exchange applicants are required to be notified by an exchange in case of an “inconsistency or inability to verify” details in the application.
