A-Rod Abruptly Drops Suits Over Drug Probe And Suspension

Law360, New York (February 7, 2014, 6:57 PM EST) -- New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez abandoned two lawsuits Friday — one targeting Major League Baseball over its probe into his use of banned drugs and a second challenging his suspension for the 2014 season — in a decision to accept an unprecedented 162-game ban.

White flags were raised in the two Manhattan federal court cases by the slugger's legal team saying simply that the "action is dismissed" in both cases. His lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, confirmed the dismissals in an email.
