Twitter Facing Suit Over Unauthorized James Dean Account

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 7:33 PM ET) -- Twitter Inc. is fighting a lawsuit filed by intellectual property rights management company CMG Worldwide over an unauthorized Twitter account called @JamesDean, which CMG says violates its trademark and publicity rights for the long-dead actor.

On Friday, the social media giant removed to federal court an Indiana state lawsuit filed by James Dean Inc. in December that claimed Twitter had ignored multiple requests from the rights holders that the @JamesDean account — run by an anonymous subscriber — be removed or deactivated.
