DC Circ. Mulls Coverage Of Temp Nurse In Malpractice Row

Circuit on Monday considered whether a per diem nurse was excluded from a liability insurance policy covering full- and part-time workers, in a $3 million medical malpractice liability spat between Greenspring Financial Insurance Ltd. and Interstate Fire & Casualty Co.
At oral argument, Greenspring asked a three-judge panel to reverse a summary judgment that put it on the hook for a $3 million settlement paid to a woman who had filed a malpractice suit against its insured, Washington Hospital Center, and against temporary nurse...
