Accused In $1M Judicial Bribery Plot Get Time To Review Tapes

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 8:50 PM ET) -- A Texas federal judge last week gave criminal defense lawyers for alleged money launderers additional time to review some 500 hours of recordings purporting to show an alleged $1.2 million bribery plot against U.S. District Judge Sam Sparks, who was overseeing their sentencing.

In a Feb. 4 order, U.S. District Judge Donald E. Walter extended a deadline for pretrial motions in the bribery case to July 14, allowing lawyers for a trio of men with alleged ties to the Zetas drug cartel more time to review...
