Lawyer Stole $2M From Jewish Cemetery, NY AG Says

Law360, New York (February 10, 2014, 5:24 PM EST) -- A Ridgefield, Conn., lawyer who allegedly transferred nearly $2 million from a Staten Island, N.Y., Jewish nonprofit cemetery into his attorney escrow account was arrested Monday and charged with embezzlement, New York's attorney general said.

Timothy Griffin, 54, faces a possible 25-year prison term for felony grand larceny, a Staten Island indictment says, after he allegedly pushed chunks of money ranging from $250,000 to $385,000 into his account.
