Photographers Sue Cengage To Preserve Copyright Claims

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 10:35 PM ET) -- A group of professional photographers launched an complaint at Cengage Learning Inc. on Monday to prevent the bankrupt textbook publisher from discharging their potential copyright infringement claims upon leaving Chapter 11.

The dozen photographers in the suit alleged Cengage has used their copyrighted images in violation of licensing agreements and has prevented them from following up on the supposed violations by withholding details about the extent of their use, according to a complaint filed in New York bankruptcy court.
