Claims Over MF Global Collapse Trimmed In Class Action

Law360, New York (February 11, 2014, 8:12 PM ET) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday dismissed some claims from a customer class action alleging Jon Corzine, the former CEO of now bankrupt MF Global Inc. and others lied about a $1.6 billion shortfall in customer funds, finding that a private plaintiff can’t sue a financial institution employee for Commodity Exchange Act violations.

U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero dismissed six counts against Corzine and several other of the former MF Global top brass, but left in place an equal amount of the plaintiffs’ claims....
