City, Police Strike $5M Deal In Wage-And-Hour Suit

Law360, New York (March 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The cash-strapped city of Colorado Springs has moved to resolve a wage-and-hour class action without breaking the bank, striking a tentative $5.25 million deal with several hundred police officers who claimed they weren't paid for all the time they spent on the job.

The proposed settlement, which still needs court approval, calls for Colorado Springs to cough up $5.25 million over the next three years, and for the Colorado Springs Police Department to implement various reforms addressing issues raised in the suit.
