Senators Push To Reinstate Biodiesel Tax Incentive

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 1:48 PM EST) -- U.S. Senators Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., and Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, introduced legislation Wednesday that would reform and extend the $1-per-gallon tax credit for biodiesel producers through 2017, after Congress allowed the tax breaks to lapse at the end of last year.

The tax incentive helps biodiesel compete with petroleum diesel, stimulating production and ultimately lowering costs for consumers, according to the lawmakers and industry advocates.
