Ohio Lawmaker Calls For Earned Income Tax Credit Reform

Law360, New York (February 14, 2014, 3:53 PM EST) -- Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, renewed his push Friday for congressional action on passing the Working Families Tax Relief Act of 2013, which would expand eligibility for tax credits focused on individuals, including the Earned Income Tax Credit.

The legislation, now co-signed by 33 members of Congress, specifically targets the EITC, among other tax laws, increases the EITC refund percentage and broadens the tax credit’s reach to more individuals and families.
