Texas Judge At Center Of Bribery Probe Resigns

Law360, Houston (February 14, 2014, 7:37 PM EST) -- A Texas state judge who is the focus of a federal investigation into allegations he accepted bribes in exchange for favorable rulings in criminal cases stepped down from the bench on Friday.

Bexar County Court at Law Judge Angus McGinty submitted his letter of resignation to Gov. Rick Perry as federal authorities look into claims that he reduced bonds for criminal defendants appearing in his court after receiving auto repairs on his personal vehicles.
