$90M Luxury Hotel To Replace Landmark Philly Courthouse

Law360, Philadelphia (February 18, 2014, 6:55 PM EST) -- Developers with the Peebles Corp. will spend $90 million to convert Philadelphia's landmark family courthouse into a 199-room luxury hotel, Mayor Michael Nutter announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

The courthouse, whose operations are scheduled to be transferred from the current location on Vine Street near the Ben Franklin Parkway to a new building in Center City later this year, will be largely preserved as developers with Peebles and P&A Associates convert the property into a Kimpton Hotel.
