Couple In $9.7M Defense Contractor Scheme Gets Prison Time

Law360, New York (February 18, 2014, 2:16 PM EST) -- A former employee of a U.S. Department of Defense contractor supporting the Afghan National Army will serve 30 months in prison for participating in a scheme to fraudulently secure $9.7 million worth of purchase orders, a Virginia federal judge ruled Friday.

Keith Johnson and his wife Angela pled guilty in November to conspiracy to commit wire fraud after they allegedly worked together to secure purchase orders from Keith Johnson's defense contractor employer for vehicle parts supplied by the couple’s own separate company.
