After Investor Clash, AT&T Latest To Detail Gov't Snooping

Law360, New York (February 18, 2014, 7:55 PM EST) -- Bowing to pleas from shareholders, AT&T Inc. on Tuesday divulged data on the number of government demands for subscriber information it receives, revealing that federal, state and local officials submitted more than 300,000 queries in 2013.

The telecommunications giant's first transparency report showed that it was ordered to turn over information more often than leading online service companies Google Inc., Facebook Inc., Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc., although comparatively fewer requests targeting AT&T have been related to national security.
