Ex-Madoff Associate Takes Witness Stand In Rare Move

Law360, New York (February 18, 2014, 6:40 PM ET) -- One of five former Bernard Madoff associates on trial over the epic Ponzi scheme took the unusual step Tuesday of testifying in his own defense, telling a New York federal jury he was ignorant of the fraud until Madoff’s 2008 arrest and calling the swindler “a terribly ill man.”
